PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY
What is a prayer shawl? Prayer shawls are knitted or crocheted. As they are being made, we pray for whoever will receive the shawl.
Who should receive a prayer shawl? Shawls can be given to someone suffering illness, going through difficult times, having a baby, buying a house, starting a new job, moving, or facing stress. They can be given for any reason--even just to say you care. They are for anyone of any age. We even have special shawls for babies.
Where do I get a prayer shawl? You can contact the leader of our prayer shawl ministry, Bev Shrum, and make arrangements to pick one up.
How can I help? Our meetings start at 6:30pm and we fininsh about 8:30 pm. We meet the 2nd and 4th Monday night of each month. We would love to see new people. We will be meeting in the prayer chapel. Bring a size K crochet hook or a set of #13 knitting needles. Yarn is provided. Of course, if you have yarn to donate, we will gladly accept it. Contact Bev Shrum for more information.
We sent three prayer shawls to the United Methodist Women's Assembly in St. Louis, MO. They will display all the prayer shawls and distribute them after the event to mission institutions and persons in physical and/or spiritual need.
